In 1849, cousins Charles Pfizer and Charles Erhart founded Charles Pfizer & Company in a red brick building in Brooklyn, NY.
1900 – 1950

The new century brought prosperity to Pfizer. The pioneering of the mass production of citric acid from sugar through mold fermentation fueled growth for years.
1951 – 1999

The second half of the 1900´s saw intense pharmaceutical research and great successes for Pfizer.
2000 – Present

After successfully merging with Warner-Lambert and Pharmacia to create the world's fastest-growing major pharmaceutical company, Pfizer continues its mission to become the world's most valued company to patients, customers, colleagues, investors, business partners, and the communities where we work and live.
