Alzheimer's Disease Is Crippling America
Alzheimer's disease is crippling America.
It is the sixth leading cause of death in America and it costs the nation $226 billion each year.
Even more concerning is that Alzheimer’s cannot be prevented, cured or even slowed.
The human toll is often seen by how it debilitates patients, but the often unseen burden is on the family members who care for their loved ones.
American leadership in science and medical innovation can provide hope. But we need to start talking about how we prioritize and properly invest in healthcare. Our entire health system must be committed.
The best way to cut health costs from diseases is to prevent or eliminate them with breakthrough medicines and innovation in science and technology.
We need to increase and prioritize funding for the National Institute for Health to advance basic science research and establish a national Alzheimer's plan. Also, by encouraging private sector leadership and collaboration, the next generation of promising treatments and technologies may improve the quality of life for millions of Americans.
To fight disease and promote a culture of innovation in America, your voice is needed to support the creativity and courage of America’s scientists, care providers and innovators.
Join the cause of American medical innovation and let our leaders know you are Ready for Cures.
