Laurie Olson is Executive Vice President, Strategy, Portfolio Management, and Global Commercial Operations of Pfizer. In this role, she is responsible for overseeing corporate strategy, supporting end-to-end portfolio analysis and decision-making, global commercial operations and organizational improvement.
Ms. Olson began her career at Pfizer in 1987 as an Analyst in the company's Marketing Research organization. Since then, she has served in a variety of marketing leadership positions with increasing responsibility in both the company's U.S. and global commercial organizations. Beginning in 2009, she served as Senior Vice President of the Portfolio Management group, which is responsible for decision support and optimization of Pfizer's research and development portfolio. In January 2011, Corporate Strategy was added to her responsibilities.
Ms. Olson has taken a leading role on several company-wide initiatives, including the Engine for Sustainable Innovation and various enterprise efficiency and transformation initiatives. She serves as a member of the Portfolio Strategy and Investment Team, the governance committee accountable for portfolio decisions in support of the innovative core.
Ms. Olson earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and an MBA in Marketing from Hofstra University.
