(BUSINESS WIRE)--In response to an announcement today by Mylan Laboratories that it has launched a generic competitor to Norvasc, Pfizer said it is making available its own generic amlodipine besylate product immediately through the company’s Greenstone subsidiary. Norvasc also will remain available to patients.
Pfizer said it will continue to pursue all available legal remedies to protect the market for Norvasc through a six-month pediatric exclusivity period that expires in September, 2007.
