Pfizer owns or operates over 70 million square feet of facility space worldwide. This brings with it a significant environmental responsibility. To lessen the impact of our facilities, Pfizer has made a commitment to develop environmentally responsible facilities through a program known as "Green Buildings: Local Action, Global Results." The net result is simple and clear-going Green delivers business value through lower facility lifecycle costs and helps minimize Pfizer's environmental footprint — a win-win for Pfizer and for the environment.

Goals and Commitments:

  • To promote the best alternatives to standard building materials and office interiors that support healthier, more eco-friendly business environments in addition to conserving natural resources and reducing energy consumption.

Programs and Actions:

  • "Green Buildings: Local Action, Global Results" Program: Promoting innovative design, procurement, construction and operation of facilities.
  • Green Buildings Team: Showcasing best practices across Pfizer to help colleagues make informed green/lifecycle cost decisions.
  • Knowledge Sharing, Tools and Recognition: Developing enabling tools such as Pfizer's Green Buildings evaluation process and lifecycle cost analysis documents, publicized case studies, and a recognition program.
