- Clinical Research Unit, New Haven: First building in Connecticut to be awarded a coveted Silver LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification by US Green Building Council and 3 out of 4 Green Globe certifications.
- New York Headquarters: Partnering with Armstrong World Industries, Inc to reclaim an average 250,000 square feet of ceiling tile per year.
- Sweden's Office Building in Silverdal: Recognized in 2008 by the Swedish Ministry for the Environment by earning the EU GreenBuilding Award for achieving 50% energy efficiency by leveraging cutting edge technology to optimize solar heat capture.
- Former Upjohn Headquarters, Kalamazoo: Demolition and implementation of green building practices resulted in the recycle or reuse of up to 90% of the building materials, over 40 acres of land restored to a natural state, and more than 35,000 tons of waste avoided.
- Manufacturing Site in Freiburg, Germany: Using a new energy-efficient geothermal heating and cooling system to save energy and costs and to reduce our carbon footprint.
To encourage environmental sustainability throughout Pfizer, this worldwide program recognizes colleagues for achievements in green buildings practices such as energy performance, water conservation, renewable resources, recycling/reuse, waste management and indoor air quality.
