Jeffrey has worked for Pfizer since October 2006 as a Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR) scientist supporting the US and global markets in urology, depression, and women's health. As a member of Primary Care Business Unit, Global Market Access, he is responsible for generating evidence for payer-stakeholders and supporting the regulatory reviews of a new medication intended for menopause relief. This includes engaging key stakeholders in the development and implementation of the global HEOR research program.
In 2012-2013, Save the Children (STC) will work with Global Health Fellows to build to increase public awareness and involvement in its campaign to reduce child and maternal mortality in East Africa. During his Fellowship, Jeffrey will be working with STC staff to roll out a health awareness campaign to increase understanding of maternal health challenges and transmit key health messages to communities in Uganda.
Jeffrey hopes his partnership with STC will help improve maternal and child health in Uganda, by establishing a coalition of invested national stakeholders. His professional experience working in the pharmaceutical industry and academia, training in global health policy, and volunteering with community organizations will provide the skills to effectively address health issues in both the public and private sectors. Upon his return from assignment, Jeffrey expects to have a better understanding of the challenges and solutions to improving access to the healthcare in resource-constrained countries such as Uganda.
