Alex has 29 years of service with Pfizer beginning as a lab analyst conducting dissolution and bioavailability studies. Alex later moved to the Quality Assurance materials group where she conducted vendor audits, wrote quality profiles, handled complaints, and investigated rejections. Alex subsequently moved to IT where she has fulfilled roles as a project manager, and a service manager. Currently a Compliance Lead, Alex supports computerized business systems that serve Quality Operations in the Midwest manufacturing plants and ensures that projects use good IT practices and that validation efforts are aligned with regulatory requirements and internal procedures.
Alex is also working on her doctoral dissertation–Managing Health Care at a Libyan Public Hospital: A Case Studyýfor a degree in Applied Management and Decision Sciences with a specialization in Leadership and Organizational Change. She is a pantry coordinator for the Loaves & Fishes program in her community helping get food to families in need. She also enjoys being a Junior Achievement volunteer, teaching 5th graders business principles.
As a Fellow, Alex will work with the local CARE team to produce a strategic and business development plan for the long-term care and support portfolio of the Health and Social Protection sector. Alexýs home base is a Pfizer Established Productýs manufacturing plant and she hopes to learn how Pfizer's Established Products Business Unit can best support its Emerging Markets Business Unit. She also hopes to learn about the challenges of delivering quality health care in sub-Saharan Africa.
