Fellow Biography: 

Ray has worked for Pfizer since December 2007 as a statistician for clinical development in Oncology Business unit. For the past four years, Ray has been working as lead statistician in the Sutent pNET (pancreatic Endoneurocrine Tumor) program and has participated in worldwide submission for regulatory approval of Sutent in pNET indication.

Ray's fellowship will be with The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Beijing, China. The CDC works alongside China's Ministry of Health to address emerging infectious diseases in China including supporting disease surveillance and detection programs as a means to improve outbreak response. Fellows will conduct epidemiological studies and work with research staff in eight high priority hospitals in China to improve techniques of collecting and analyzing pneumococcal specimens.

By working as a part of a multicultural team, Ray hopes to have the opportunity to experience, and learn from challenges resulting from unique business rules/practices, significant cultural/marketplace differences and from working with team members with different functional/technical background.

The United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (U.S. CDC)collaborates with the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (China CDC) on research and surveillance for invasive pneumococcal and other diseases in China.
