Base/Location:Strýngnýs, SwedenNGO Partner:Access Project at Columbia Universityýs Earth InstituteAssignment Location:Kigali, RwandaDuration:March 2010 – August 2010Fellowship Title:Manager, Pilot PlantGabriel has worked for Product & Process Development within Bio-Manufacturing Sciences Group/Global Manufacturing Services BSG/GMS, since 2004. Initially, his role was Quality Engineer, responsible for quality management system activities, as well as risk management assessments and lead auditing. Currently, he is Pilot Plant Manager supporting co-development projects and marketed products worldwide. Outside of work, he volunteers as a math tutor for high school students.
As a Pfizer Project Management Fellow for the Access Project in Kigali, Rwanda, Gabriel will assess and develop management systems at the district and health center level, including budgeting, forecasting, strategic planning and reporting. He hopes for meaningful results based on his knowledge and abilities. On assignment, Gabriel plans to use the skills and tools he has acquired through life and work to improve the situation for others. He hopes to return with the ability to better focus on activities that create true value for Pfizer and the community.
The Access Project is an initiative of the Earth Institute/Columbia University and seeks to help developing countries achieve success in combating HIV/AIDS, TB, and Malaria with Global Fund support.
