Heather has worked for Pfizer since September 2003, first as a Sales Representative, later in the Pain & Dementia Resource Division, and currently as a Pharmacy Key Account Manager helping pharmacists improve patient care, and building cross-collaborative ties between community health care professionals.
Heather has long been an advocate of social and environmental responsibility and began volunteering in her community when she was 14 years old. She has a strong interest in the welfare of women and children in developing countries and has been a long time supporter of Kiva ý Loans that Change Lives, and Women for Women International. She has also run a half-marathon to raise money for Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto and is on the Board of Directors for a local non-profit music organization entitled the Toronto Tabla Ensemble.
On assignment with mothers2mothers (m2m), Heather will be working with the Communications Manager to help improve both internal and external communication, as well as raise the international profile of this rapidly expanding organization. She hopes to bring back an increased awareness of womenýs health issues in the developing world to help better understand the needs of the large immigrant populations in Toronto, as well as a better understanding of HIV/AIDS. She also hopes to bring a fresh set of eyes and a new approach to team & client communications.
mothers2mothers (m2m) hopes to create an effective, sustainable model of care that provides education and support for pregnant women and new mothers living with HIV/AIDS and to prevent babies from contracting HIV through mother-to-child transmission.
