Fellow Biography: 

Lesley has worked for Pfizer since May 2004, starting as a Director, Licensing and Development within Global Outcomes Research for multiple disease areas. From 2008 to 2010, her role was as Senior Director for health economics and outcomes research for the vaccines and anti-infective areas. Currently Lesley works in the Global Specialty Care Business unit Market Access Department within the platform function: Health Technology Assessment/ Evidence Based Medicine/ Economic Modeling, working across the global SCBU disease area portfolio.

Lesley will serving as a Fellow with GBCHealth in Beijing. GBCHealth is partnering with the GHF program in 2012-2013 to design and implement a new initiative to engage businesses in diabetes prevention and care efforts across China. By sharing chronic disease experience with GBCHealth, Fellows will play a critical role in building this critical advocacy and prevention initiative and expanding the business community's contributions to address this growing public health concern.

Lesley's current and past volunteering includes fund-raising for prosthetics / surgery for children living in global developing countries as well as teaching disabled children.

Through her GHF experience at GBCHealth, Lesley hopes to broaden awareness about the growing diabetes challenges within the Chinese population and to gain insights on ways to address the challenges of implementing diabetes prevention education programs in this setting. Following her assignment, Lesley plans to apply what she has learned to her Pfizer responsibilities working within the global Market Access disease areas. She also believes the experience will offer valuable personal and professional experience working in another country.

GBCHealth is a coalition of more than 220 companies united to keep the fight against HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria, and non-communicable diseases a global priority. The Coalition's members share learning and knowledge from the front lines of the fight, and GBC provides tailored support so that companies can take an active role in defeating the pandemics. GBC also organizes collective actions among companies, and links the public and private sectors in ways that pool talents and resources. GBC represents the private sector to the Global Fund.
