In his current role as Associate Director, Public Affairs and Policy, Peter works with his team to develop Public Affairs and Policy strategies in concert with relevant business functions to advance business objectives. This includes developing and overseeing the advancement of strategic partnership with local stakeholders, supporting pharma, Vaccine, Nutrition, Consumer health care, animal health care business development, and supporting corporate facilities to maintain a favorable external environment. Prior to this position, he was Associate Marketing Director, responsible for the Anti-infective therapeutic area at Pfizer China. Peter graduated from medical school with a major in Pediatrics. He also held sales, marketing and training roles with various multi-national companies in the 17 years after his graduation.
Peter will work with the Population Services International (PSI) team in Kenya to conduct assessment of PSI's sales and marketing activities and provide recommendations for improvement; train PSI sales force in sales and marketing techniques; train the PSI marketing department on a promotional campaign geared towards retailers to increase sales; conduct supervisory visits to the fields to better understand the local marketplace; and develop ideas for new product brand extensions.
Becoming a Fellow has been a goal of Peter's since he joined Pfizer in 2007. He has a deep compassion for the people of Africa and hopes to have a positive impact in Kenya. He is very proud to be the first volunteer from Pfizer China to immerse himself in a multicultural environment. He hopes by sharing this exciting experience and sense of achievement with his colleagues in China that it may motivate them to learn more about volunteer work and be willing to consider becoming a Fellow.
