Sunita stated with Pfizer in 2003, as a QC Microbiology Analyst. After four years in the laboratory, Sunita joined the QA group. In 2009, Sunita was appointed the Franklin site Inclusion Ambassador. Her primary responsibility was to facilitate culture change with a focus on increasing colleague engagement and site productivity. Being a part of the Inclusion group helped Sunita realize the positive impact dedicated colleagues can make in an organization. This experience combined with Sunita's Microbiology and QA background led to her interest in the GHF program. In her free time, Sunita volunteers for the Girls Scouts.
On her Fellowship, Sunita will support IAVI's sample management activities, which will include, improving sample management processes, implementing or optimizing current sample management processes, developing SOPs, and providing training when applicable (documentation, tracking, QA and storage). Through the GHF experience, Sunita hopes to learn more about HIV/AIDS, how IAVI manages vaccine projects, and the challenges that IVAI faces coordinating a large network of laboratories. Sunita also hopes to add value to IAVI with her experiences working on cross–functional teams for problem solving as well as leveraging her strengths in diversity and inclusion initiatives.
IAVI is a global nonprofit, public–private partnership working to ensure the development of safe, effective, and accessible HIV vaccines.
