Encouraging Older Adults to Keep Booming by Helping to Protect Against Pneumococcal Pneumonia
Football legend Terry Bradshaw teamed up with Pfizer in year two of the All About Your Boom™ public health campaign to educate Baby Boomers about pneumococcal pneumonia, a potentially serious bacterial lung infection that, in severe cases, can be life-threatening. There are more than 47.8 million adults 65 years or older in the U.S. who may not be aware that, even if they are healthy, they are at an increased risk for pneumococcal pneumonia because the immune system naturally weakens with age. All About Your Boom and Bradshaw tell adults 65 and older not to let pneumococcal pneumonia sideline them from doing the things they love and encourage Boomers to speak with their health care providers about their personal risk, and if vaccination is right for them.
