“Pfizer has a lot of processes in place that allow us to have a long-term vision,” explains Andrades. “We monitor what’s happening around the world, build forecasts, use tools like artificial intelligence (AI) for predictive modeling, maintain strategic inventory, and leverage multiple suppliers. All of those things together make our supply chain resilient.”

“We’re very focused on global quality standards,” says Andrades. “It doesn’t matter where the medicine is going. There’s one standard for everyone.

While visiting Kenya, Andrades met a woman who’d survived cancer after overcoming significant personal and societal barriers to receive treatment. Despite stigma and limited support, she persisted in seeking care, ultimately becoming an advocate for others facing similar challenges.
Her story served as a powerful reminder that manufacturing decisions extend far beyond production schedules and supply plans. “If our patients don't give up, we can’t give up,” Andrades says. “If we have the means, we should continue looking for solutions and keep our promise.”
That perspective reflects a broader reality across Pfizer’s pharmaceutical manufacturing teams.
