To kick off World Immunization Week, we hosted a Facebook Live on World Meningitis Day to raise awareness that meningococcal disease, including meningococcal group B (MenB) disease, still remains a public health issue.
Dr. Freda Lewis-Hall, our Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer, led the discussion. She was joined by Mary Dell Harrington, co-founder of Grown & Flown, an online community for parents of high school and college-aged students, to speak about health tips for teenagers. During the Facebook Live, Dr. Lewis-Hall and Lisa encouraged parents of teens to make a checklist of health-related items to bring to their child’s health check-up and educate them about the importance of speaking to their child’s health care provider about vaccination.
