Tapan Das has been elected to Chair
the BIOTEC section of AAPS
Tapan Das, Associate Research Fellow and Team Leader within BioTherapeutics Pharmaceutical Sciences, has been elected to chair the Biotechnology (BIOTEC) section of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS).
Elected for a three-year term as Vice Chair, Chair-Elect and Chair, Das will lead the premier organization worldwide of all scientists dedicated to the discovery, development and manufacture of biotechnology-related pharmaceutical products and therapies through advances in science and technology.
The AAPS BIOTEC section's mission is to provide a dynamic international forum for the exchange of biotechnology-related knowledge among scientists to enhance their contributions to health.
"It is a great honor, especially at a time when Pfizer is making strong efforts to bolster its position in biotechnology," said Das. "I am happy to contribute to Pfizerýs efforts in influencing the external environment, while also serving the hundreds of AAPS members we have in Pfizer."
The American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists is a professional scientific non-profit organization of approximately 12,000 members employed in academia, industry, government and other research institutes worldwide. Founded in 1986, AAPS provides a dynamic international forum for the exchange of knowledge among scientists to serve the public and enhance their contributions to health.
