Colleague Community Engagement

CONTRIBUTING TO THE GREATER COMMUNITY

Pfizer's Colleague Community Engagement programs, which are funded by the Pfizer Foundation,i provide an opportunity for colleagues to have a direct impact on the communities in which they live and work, thereby delivering value to our business and society.

Pfizer colleagues are encouraged to align their volunteer experiences to the 17 United Nations Global Goals for Sustainable Development. Pfizer is dedicated to helping achieve the Global Goals, and by supporting the goals through their work and volunteer efforts, colleagues can feel a greater connection to the global community.

COLLEAGUE GIVING

Pfizer colleagues generously give their time and resources to support programs that they are passionate about in their own communities.

In 2016, Pfizer colleagues (active, retired, and Board Members) and the Pfizer Foundation donated $34 million to 12,000 nonprofit organizations across the United States and Puerto Rico.

Colleagues have the opportunity to participate in the following programs, which seek to improve local and global communities, as well as advance progress on the Global Goals.

THE PFIZER FOUNDATION MATCHING GIFTS

The Pfizer Foundation Matching Gifts program matches US- and Puerto Rico-based colleague contributions. Donations are made to eligible 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations that meet program criteria located in the United States and Puerto Rico.

THE PFIZER FOUNDATION INDIVIDUAL VOLUNTEER GRANTS

The Pfizer Foundation Individual Volunteer Grants encourage US- and Puerto Rico-based colleagues and retirees to volunteer on their own time with eligible 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations that meet program criteria. When individuals meet qualifying hours, a grant is sent to the organization.

The Pfizer Foundation Team Volunteer Grants provide US-based Pfizer colleagues with a grant, when they volunteer as a team of five or more for a minimum of 15 total hours with an eligible 501 (c)(3) tax-exempt organization that meets program criteria. When teams reach qualifying hours, the grant is sent to the organization.

PFIZER FOUNDATION DISASTER RELIEF MATCH

PFIZER VOL.UNTEERZ CHALLENGE

The Pfizer VOL.UNTEERZ Challenge is a global challenge intended to recognize and celebrate the volume of Pfizer colleagues’ volunteer service in local communities around the world. As a crowdsourcing initiative, this challenge secures votes from colleagues on their favorite volunteer project, and the top 10 individuals are awarded with cash grants to their organization.

Since the program's launch in 2010, more than 1,500 Pfizer colleagues have submitted volunteer projects through the VOL.UNTEERZ Challenge in support of over 900 nonprofit organizations in 40 countries.

PFIZER GLOBAL VOLUNTEER NETWORK

Through the Global Volunteer Network, Pfizer colleagues globally have online access to volunteer opportunities to support community volunteer efforts. Colleagues have the ability to post, promote or participate in hands-on service activities in communities around the world. All service activities are mapped to the Sustainable Development Goals.
