Advance Ship Notification

• An Advance Shipping Notification (ASN) is notice of a pending delivery, generated by the supplier, prior to shipment to the customer.

• It is created by the supplier directly in SNC, which allows it to flow automatically to Pfizer’s SAP-ECC system.

• ASNs should be created as soon as the product is to be shipped.

• The ASN is used to list the contents of a shipment as well as additional information relating to the shipment, such as order information, product description, physical characteristics, and so on.

• At Pfizer, receipt of the ASN in ECC automatically creates a corresponding Inbound Delivery number, which is used in their goods receipt (GR) process.
