Addressing Pain, Reducing Risk
Interstate Postgraduate Medical Association of North America
The primary goal of this program is to change clinician behavior as manifested by the incorporation by primary care clinicians of evidence-based opioid prescribing practices in chronic non-cancer pain. The primary objective is to increase patient-clinician education and discussion surrounding issues relevant to long-term opioid therapy. Secondary objectives include: (1) increase assessment of the risk associated with long-term opioid therapy; (2) improve monitoring for prescription medication misuse or abuse.
