What You Will Achieve
You will have a key role to play in an organization that has people at its heart. You will be responsible for delivering and improving HR processes and programs through continuous improvement efforts, technology solutions, and direct coaching. You will guide execution of new and/or annual programs, such as performance management, employee relations, training and development, etc. You will provide the necessary tools and processes to assist managers in better managing their workforce and driving behavior for colleagues to be self-sufficient.
As a People Experience Partner, you will be setting objectives for multiple projects. Your managerial and technical skills will help in guiding the people in your division. Your understanding of the external marketplace and customer requirements will facilitate instituting knowledge-sharing practices in your team and beyond. You will be relied on to manage operational activities that support the goals of the division and set direction for its success. Through your expertise and extensive knowledge, you will foster a culture that promotes innovation and thrives on doing better for patients and healthcare.
How You Will Achieve It
- Set People Experience business partnership objectives for, and manage, multiple partnership projects in support of Pfizer groups in Japan
- Work closely with leaders across People Experience teams, business, and other supporting functions to develop and execute the Human Resources strategy
- Create and drive labor relations strategy as well as tactical plans with the intent of creating a harmonious and productive employee relations environment
- Provide support with Mergers, Acquisitions, Divestitures, and Restructurings
- Deploy Corporate-wide initiatives and Strategic site initiatives
- Ensure high standards of compliance to norms, policies, and procedures
- Drive execution of annual and daily processes and provide timely, effective coaching to managers on HR processes and programs
- Coach business leaders to build high-performing teams to ensure effectiveness and delivery of business objectives
- Provide leaders coaching on HR systems and processes with an emphasis on teaching managers to become self-sufficient in utilizing tools
- Play an advisory role in supporting leaders to anchor key initiatives in the areas of culture building, career and talent architecture, and capability transformation
- Cultivate a motivated, committed, and engaged business team that fosters innovation and professional development
- Stay current with innovative HR practices and informed on best-in-class people and organization management
Qualifications
Must-Have
- 5+ years of proven track record in HR practice with increasing responsibilities
- Experience leading organizations through significant change
- Experience creating and implementing standard HR processes
- Experience in Labor Relations and Talent Budget management
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in Japanese and English
- Advanced Microsoft Office suite skills and strong competence with common HR systems & tools, e.g. Workday, ADP, SAP etc.
- Strong stakeholder management and influence
AI Capability — Standalone Evaluation Criterion
- Proactively integrates generative AI tools such as Copilot, Claude into daily work (document creation, data analysis, materials design, communications) to raise both speed and quality of output
- Applies structured prompt design to collaborate effectively with AI in elevating HR processes, including recruiting, performance evaluation, labor relations, and employee survey analysis
- Completes company-designated AI certification programs, such as the AI Fluency Program, demonstrating systematic AI literacy
- Understands the ethics, data governance, and confidentiality considerations of AI use, and exercises sound risk-based judgment
- Demonstrates leadership by coaching teams and managers to raise organization-wide AI literacy, sharing personal AI practice as a model
- Shows strong agility and a continuous learning mindset toward new AI tools and methods, adapting readily to an evolving work environment
Nice-to-Have
- Master's degree and relevant pharmaceutical experience
- Know-how for, and agility to learn, HR platforms and technology
- Experience working with works councils/unions
- Consultative, facilitation, and engagement capabilities
- People management experience
