Manager, AI Ops SRE Platform Engineer
- Greece-Thessaloniki Chortiatis

Our Purpose
Pfizer Digital
Benefits
Role Summary
The CISO Infrastructure & Cloud Services organization delivers excellence in the pursuit of breakthroughs that change patients' lives through industry-leading infrastructure operations performance. We ensure optimal performance of global application hosting and network services that power Pfizer's business processes. We strive to revolutionize service dependability by applying advanced analytics to drive predictive detection, identifying potential issues with our services and intervening before they disrupt our business. We place data at the heart of what we do and apply a relentless focus on continuous improvement to enable Pfizer's business processes and patient outcomes.
We are seeking an AI Ops SRE Platform Engineer to build and own the platform behind our AI-driven operations and to act as technical coordinator for a small AI Operations pod within Hosting SRE Operations, based in Greece. This role leads the design and delivery of our agent-assisted incident pipeline - from intake classification and enrichment, through read-only investigation, to guarded remediation approved by a human. The successful candidate combines hands-on engineering of AI agents and automation with strong operations judgement, and will convert classic infrastructure operations across Server, Storage, Data Protection, Database, Middleware and HCI into reliable, measurable AI-driven operations.
Role Responsibilities
Accountable for the technical direction and coordination of the Greece AI Ops pod, aligning the team's work by influence rather than line authority, and acting as the senior technical decision-maker and escalation point when incidents or design choices exceed the pod's normal thresholds.
Own the end-to-end design and delivery of the Agentic Ticket pipeline, from intake (classification, enrichment, prioritisation, routing) through cross-system investigation and root-cause drafting, accountable for its reliability, safety and readiness for production use.
Own the capability contract that governs the agent runbooks, the integration allow-list, and read-versus-change scope per system, defined jointly with Platform and Cloud Engineering on a default-deny basis, exercising judgment over what the agent may safely be permitted to do.
Set the standards for how connectors and remediation playbooks are built across the operational toolchain (e.g. ServiceNow, Dynatrace, Aria, AIQUM, Rubrik) with execution through SSM and Ansible, ensuring every automated action carries rollback and audit and meets the pod's safety bar.
Hold the pipeline to explicit accuracy and reliability targets, validated against our own estate rather than vendor benchmarks, and judge when performance is trustworthy enough to move an action from human-approved to automatic.
Embed SRE and automation-first ways of working across the pod, and hold accountability for continuous improvement and measurable toil reduction across the Hosting domains.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
4 years+ in infrastructure operations, SRE or platform engineering, including a technical leadership or lead-engineer role.
Demonstrated delivery of production AI-agent or automation systems (for example Amazon Bedrock AgentCore, LangGraph or equivalent), including tool and connector integration via MCP or similar.
Strong programming and automation skills (Python plus one or more of Bash, PowerShell), CI/CD and coding best practices, and IaC / configuration management (Ansible, Terraform).
Working knowledge of at least two Hosting domains (Server/OS, Storage, Data Protection, Database, Middleware or HCI) sufficient to judge remediation safety.
Strong data literacy and structured evaluation skills to interpret metrics and validate agent outputs.
Familiarity with ServiceNow ITOM / Now Assist, Dynatrace and observability tooling is a plus.
Demonstrated experience in an agile work environment possessing qualities such as a collaborative mindset, adaptability to change, and a proactive problem-solving approach.
Non-Standard Work Schedule, Travel or Environment Requirements
Periodic international and domestic travel required (less than 10%)
Please apply by sending your CV in English.

Information & Business TechBreakthroughs that change patients’ lives
Research confirms what intuition tells us: that purpose-driven companies perform better, are more innovative, attract and retain the best people, and know how to unleash the power of those people. Pfizer’s purpose—Breakthroughs that change patients' lives—fuels everything we do and reflects our passion for building on our legacy as one of the greatest contributors of good to the world.
Each word in our purpose has meaning and reflects the value we strive to bring to patients and society:
“Breakthroughs” - These are the innovations, scientific and commercial, that we seek to deliver every day. All colleagues, regardless of role, level or location, strive for breakthroughs every day.
“Change” - We want to do more than simply improve patients’ medical conditions; we want to dramatically change their lives for the better.
“Patients’ lives” - We consider not only patients, but everyone they touch—including their families, caregivers, and friends—and everything they love to do. It’s an intentionally holistic view.
Our purpose ensures that patients remain at the center of all we do. We live our purpose by sourcing the best science in the world; partnering with others in the healthcare system to improve access to our medicines; using digital technologies to enhance our drug discovery and development, as well as patient outcomes; and leading the conversation to advocate for pro-innovation/pro-patient policies.
Every decision we make and every action we take is done with the patient in mind—and to nurture an environment where breakthroughs can thrive.
