ROLE SUMMARY
All over the world, Pfizer colleagues work together to positively impact health for everyone, everywhere. Our colleagues have the opportunity to grow and develop a career that offers both individual and company success; be part of an ownership culture that values diversity and where all colleagues are energized and engaged and have the ability to impact health and lives of millions of people. Digital is at the core of how Pfizer delivers Breakthroughs That Change Patient's Lives. Advanced technologies that accelerate research, development, manufacturing, and patient access to therapies are all made possible by the infrastructures that enable our Digital landscape.
As part of the Service Management Solutions team, the Manager, IT Asset & Configuration Management Lead is responsible for the strategy and operational execution of Pfizer Digital's Hardware Asset Management (HAM), IT Asset Management (ITAM), and Configuration Management processes. This role manages the ServiceNow HAM product roadmap and backlog, ensures compliance with enterprise policies and audit requirements, and drives continuous improvement of asset and configuration management capabilities.
Key responsibilities include overseeing CMDB and hardware asset data quality, hardware model governance, asset lifecycle management, CI onboarding, and enterprise data standards. The role serves as the primary point of contact for ITAM, HAM, and Configuration Management guidance across Pfizer, while leading ServiceNow enhancement initiatives, user acceptance testing, reporting, dashboards, and process documentation to ensure effective governance, compliance, and operational excellence.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Own end-to-end delivery of the IT Asset Management (ITAM) and Configuration Management processes for Pfizer Digital: policy, KPIs, audit posture, and compliance documentation (Runbooks, Process Guides, KBAs).
- Act as Product Manager for Hardware Asset Management (HAM) on ServiceNow: deliver upon the HAM roadmap, gather stakeholder requirements and voice of the customer to drive and prioritize the engineering squad backlog.
- Run CMDB/HAM data remediation and enrichment to ensure Completeness, Correctness, and Compliance.
- Manage hardware model normalization and CI data standards across the ServiceNow CMDB, ensuring assets and models are consistently classified, named, and lifecycle-managed as new data and models are introduced.
- Onboard and govern new Configuration Items (CIs) from business areas outside Digital as they are brought into ServiceNow/CMDB scope, extending ITAM/Configuration governance beyond the core IT estate.
- Lead UAT planning and execution for ITAM, Configuration, and HAM within major ServiceNow platform releases, and step into adjacent process UAT (Incident, Change, Problem) when needed.
- Serve as the enterprise point of contact for ITAM/Configuration/HAM implementation questions across Pfizer — advising process owners and stakeholders Pfizer-wide on how to operate and govern their own sub-processes within the framework — and partner with adjacent teams on lifecycle and compliance initiatives.
- Own the knowledge base and enablement materials for ITAM/Config/HAM (process guides, training content, KBAs), and coordinate and develop delivery-partner resources supporting ITAM/HAM delivery (including offshore/contractor roles).
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- 4+ years of relevant IT experience, including direct process-ownership experience in IT Asset Management and/or Configuration Management within a large, matrixed organization.
- 2+ years' hands-on experience with ServiceNow ITAM/HAM (or demonstrable equivalent ITAM tooling) administration, configuration, or product management.
- Working knowledge of CMDB/CSDM design principles and asset/configuration data-quality practices.
- Demonstrated experience leading or contributing to UAT and release-readiness activities for enterprise platform rollouts.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including producing compliance/process documentation for audit and stakeholder audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver through cross-functional teams without formal authority over them.
- Able to build, read, and interpret ServiceNow dashboards and reports (e.g. Performance Analytics) to track ITAM/Config/HAM KPIs and data-quality metrics.
- Demonstrated ability to work in an agile work environment possessing qualities such as a collaborative mindset, adaptability to change, and a proactive problem-solving approach.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA), or a Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) credential in ITAM/HAM.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (or higher) or an equivalent process-improvement credential
- ITIL 4 Foundation certification (or equivalent ITSM framework knowledge)
- Agile/Scrum credentials (CSM, CSPO, or PSM).
- Exposure to Software Asset Management (SAM) concepts or tooling.
- Experience operating in a regulated / GxP environment.
- Prior experience coordinating delivery-partner or contractor resources.

Breakthroughs that change patients’ lives
Research confirms what intuition tells us: that purpose-driven companies perform better, are more innovative, attract and retain the best people, and know how to unleash the power of those people. Pfizer’s purpose—Breakthroughs that change patients' lives—fuels everything we do and reflects our passion for building on our legacy as one of the greatest contributors of good to the world.
Each word in our purpose has meaning and reflects the value we strive to bring to patients and society:
“Breakthroughs” - These are the innovations, scientific and commercial, that we seek to deliver every day. All colleagues, regardless of role, level or location, strive for breakthroughs every day.
“Change” - We want to do more than simply improve patients’ medical conditions; we want to dramatically change their lives for the better.
“Patients’ lives” - We consider not only patients, but everyone they touch—including their families, caregivers, and friends—and everything they love to do. It’s an intentionally holistic view.
Our purpose ensures that patients remain at the center of all we do. We live our purpose by sourcing the best science in the world; partnering with others in the healthcare system to improve access to our medicines; using digital technologies to enhance our drug discovery and development, as well as patient outcomes; and leading the conversation to advocate for pro-innovation/pro-patient policies.
Every decision we make and every action we take is done with the patient in mind—and to nurture an environment where breakthroughs can thrive.
