The AI Program & Operation Manager keeps AITO’s AI programs running smoothly — coordinating processes, tracking and documentation across AITO, D&T and business stakeholders, and supporting the CEI/AIT leadership on AI matters. The role runs the operational cadence behind AITO’s AI programs and governance: integrated tracking, SteerCo materials, dependency management and follow-up on decisions and actions.
This is a coordination and operations role that moves work through the right processes and forums. It requires strong organization, attention to detail, fluent English and enough understanding of AI to prepare accurate materials, track the right items and communicate clearly across technical and business audiences.
2. Key Accountabilities
- Run AITO programs and operations — integrated tracking, status updates, action logs and a reliable reporting cadence across AITO, D&T and business stakeholders.
- Prepare SteerCo and governance materials, agendas, minutes and follow-ups, ensuring accuracy, consistency and timeliness.
- Guide AI project teams through AI governance and ramp processes — help them understand requirements, prepare submissions and evidence, navigate review and approval steps, and progress smoothly from intake to ramp and scale.
- Coordinate dependency management across teams and track China-for-Global readiness, International dependencies, acceptance decisions and ownership-transfer milestones.
- Support China CEI/AIT leadership on AI matters, feeding AITO tracking into the enterprise portfolio view.
- Coordinate intake, funding-gate and review processes — scheduling, documentation, approvals routing and record-keeping.
- Maintain program documentation, trackers, dashboards and shared repositories with version and quality control.
- Follow up on decisions, actions and risks, chasing owners and keeping items moving through the right forums and processes.
- Coordinate approvals and compliance routing with Legal, DPO, Privacy, Risk, Compliance, Finance and Procurement.
3. Required Capabilities & Competencies
- Program and project coordination, PMO operations, tracking, documentation and reporting.
- Strong organization, attention to detail, process discipline and follow-through across many parallel items.
- Confident preparation of SteerCo and executive materials, minutes and dependency trackers.
- Working understanding of AI concepts sufficient to prepare accurate materials and track the right items.
- Reliability and service: keeps processes, materials and follow-ups accurate, timely and trusted, collaborating effectively across teams.
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Business, Administration, Technology or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in PMO, coordination, program support or business operations, 3+ years in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Ability to work across business, technology, data and governance stakeholders in a matrixed environment.
- Fluent English and Mandarin, with strong written communication for global and executive audiences.
4. Key Collaboration
The role supports AIT leadership in China, and coordinates across the AIT Acceleration Lead, AIT Value & Performance Lead, Go-to-Market Transformation (GTMx), Digital & Technology (D&T), Global Commercial Analytics(GCA), Commercial Excellence(CE) and business stakeholders. It works closely with approval and control functions — Legal, the Data Protection Officer (DPO), Privacy, Risk, Compliance, Finance and Procurement — on process, approval and routing steps, and liaises with International AIT on dependencies, acceptance decisions and ownership-transfer milestones.
5. Measures of Success
- Accurate, timely and consistent program tracking, materials and reporting.
- Well-run SteerCo and governance forums with clear minutes, actions and follow-through.
- Effective dependency and milestone tracking, including China-for-Global readiness and ownership transfers.

Breakthroughs that change patients’ lives
Research confirms what intuition tells us: that purpose-driven companies perform better, are more innovative, attract and retain the best people, and know how to unleash the power of those people. Pfizer’s purpose—Breakthroughs that change patients' lives—fuels everything we do and reflects our passion for building on our legacy as one of the greatest contributors of good to the world.
Each word in our purpose has meaning and reflects the value we strive to bring to patients and society:
“Breakthroughs” - These are the innovations, scientific and commercial, that we seek to deliver every day. All colleagues, regardless of role, level or location, strive for breakthroughs every day.
“Change” - We want to do more than simply improve patients’ medical conditions; we want to dramatically change their lives for the better.
“Patients’ lives” - We consider not only patients, but everyone they touch—including their families, caregivers, and friends—and everything they love to do. It’s an intentionally holistic view.
Our purpose ensures that patients remain at the center of all we do. We live our purpose by sourcing the best science in the world; partnering with others in the healthcare system to improve access to our medicines; using digital technologies to enhance our drug discovery and development, as well as patient outcomes; and leading the conversation to advocate for pro-innovation/pro-patient policies.
Every decision we make and every action we take is done with the patient in mind—and to nurture an environment where breakthroughs can thrive.
