Pfizer Futures Internship Program Recognized as Top 100 in U.S.

As August comes to an end, we all find ourselves saying goodbye to the trappings of summer: long days (here in New York, we won’t see another sunset after 8pm until next May), beach trips, BBQs, shorts and flip-flops. Here at Pfizer and at other companies across the country, we also have to say goodbye to our interns.

For the past three months, our hallways, conference rooms, and cafeterias have been abuzz with youthful energy as we welcome the future of the industry into our buildings. As Labor Day approaches and a new school year begins, those students return to school, and things get a little quieter.

Pfizer Futures (formerly Summer Growth Experience), our U.S. summer internship program, has been welcoming students for over 10 years. The program offers summer employment opportunities at various Pfizer sites in the U.S. and is designed to help create a meaningful internship experience for early talent interested in pursuing a career in the pharmaceutical industry. Projects span across all Pfizer businesses and our interns get to work on real, impactful initiatives, while building relationships and learning about Pfizer and the pharmaceutical industry.

In 2025 alone, Pfizer received around 15,000 applicants and ultimately welcomed approx. 500 interns (that’s less than 3%) from June to August. It’s not an easy gig to secure, and we couldn’t be more impressed with the cohort of students accepted into Pfizer Futures in 2025.

We also couldn’t be more proud to share the news that Pfizer Futures has been recognized in Yello’s list of Top 100 Internship Programs in the country.

Yello utilizes a panel of industry experts to review program nominations and bases their list on key criteria including professional development, intern engagement, company culture, conversion opportunities, compensation, unique program elements. At Pfizer, we want our summer interns to have meaningful, memorable experiences, and are grateful for this recognition.

Of course, such external accolades pale in comparison to the youthful enthusiasm and desire to learn that our interns bring every summer, not to mention the fresh perspective they bring to our work.
