The sixth season of Science Will Win, Pfizer’s award-winning podcast, focused on cancer, with each episode tackling a different aspect of the fight against the disease. Host Dr. Raven Baxter delved deep into a variety of topics within oncology, interviewing doctors, scientists, researchers, and Pfizer colleagues to glean their insights and discuss their efforts to eventually conquer cancer.

To further the conversation, each of the five podcast episodes was accompanied by a full-length video conversation between host Dr. Raven Baxter – a molecular biologist and science educator – and one of her guests. The videos provide an opportunity to hear more of the story, with more context, from experts, survivors, and others with personal insight into the topic.

The third episode of the video series explored the transformative journey of women who have turned generations of silence and fear into powerful advocacy and progress. The episode looks further into how women have reshaped perceptions and conversations around cancer, tracing the evolution through history, science, and personal experience.

The video brings viewers insightful commentary from Dr. Isaac Chan, a physician-scientist, Kirsten Gardner, a medical humanities director and author, and Katrina M. Johnson, a breast cancer patient and advocate. Katrina shares her moving story of living through multiple breast cancer diagnoses and how she now champions support for others. Together, the guests highlight the critical role women have played in driving change in cancer awareness, treatment, and survivorship, from early campaigns and changing surgical practices to evolving research and advocacy.

Key moments include the start of Katrina's cancer journey, the history of breast cancer awareness, advances in mastectomy and therapies, discussions around body image and sexuality, and the ongoing importance of advocacy and the BRCA gene. This episode is both a historical reflection and a celebration of progress, offering inspiration and insight for anyone touched by cancer.
