Pfizer Inc. is seeking a Senior Principal Process Engineer in McPherson, KS.
Act as technical and functional expert providing leadership and direction to direct reports and other teams across own and related disciplines. Manage and lead people, technological and financial resources at the Sub Business Unit/Sub. Manage teams that execute direction in support of Sub Business Unit/Sub Operating Unit leadership. Direct accountability for setting direction, deploying resources, and leading pay, performance, goal setting, and development discussions. Manage multiple projects and ongoing work activities (timelines, work plans, deliverables) of moderate complexity within a Work Team. Lead site initiated packaging cost improvement and continuous improvement projects. Identify and lead process improvement opportunities and/or corrective actions to increase yield, maximize capacity, reduce costs and decrease process variability while maintaining regulatory compliance across own and related disciplines. Participate on technical team for discrepancy and investigation resolution, equipment and process validation activities, SCARs, SCN and new process technologies. Executes Change Control, Engineering trials and lab studies and Authors associated technical reports in support of packaging engineering / process trials and studies. Serve as subject matter expert for component equipment interfaces and capabilities ensuring that package designs and systems will operate efficiently on existing and new packaging lines. Work collaboratively with Global Technical Services (GTS) Package Technology, Package Testing and Technology and Supply Chain and Procurement teams to support packaging and component projects. Provide technical support for equipment and process validation activities, conduct process overview training to support implementation of new process technologies and assists in defining the scope of capital projects. Manages the performance of direct reports through goal setting, ongoing assessment and coaching. Lead teams of technical professionals with varying levels of experience.
Requires: Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering or related sciences, plus 7 years of experience (5 years of which must be progressive post-baccalaureate experience) in product development and manufacturing in job offered or as Cash Flow Engineer or Design Engineer. Also requires 7 years of relevant work experience with/using the following (which may have been gained concurrently): Work with engineering materials, including component qualification and compendial requirements. Developing technical proposals. Value engineering and continuous improvement principles. Review and approval of engineering drawings and 3D models of parts/components, component/product design; utilizing 3d modelling software. Global regulations of products and with regulatory filings. Product/process/method validation/qualification requirements. Statistical process control and lean manufacturing process and procedure.
