The Data and AI Platforms team, which is part of the Artificial Intelligence COE organization is responsible for creating a seamless experience for analytics experts to harness the potential of big data, machine learning, and interactive analytics through a unified platform across the enterprise – from scientific/clinical to commercial across all Pfizer geographies.
Part of the Data and AI Platforms team are a group of engineers who are responsible for managing components that form the enterprise analytics platform as well as using these platforms to build reusable analytics products/solutions. This platform is the digital engine that brings together investments we have made into a unified experience for colleagues that take us to the next level of value creation. It powers next generation insights by developing enterprise-grade data foundations, allowing data to flow horizontally, enabling a versatile analytics environment, and embedding insights into day-to-day work to create a digital, data-driven culture.
What You Will Achieve
As a Full Stack Engineering Manager, you will act as a lead engineer for end-user-facing analytics products and applications that are developed within the team’s portfolio. This role will require the ability to flex between design, architecture and technical engineering of new and existing products and applications as well as considering the underlying analytical purpose of each. The incumbent would be able to build solutions from scratch, join existing development efforts and contribute to proof of concepts and experiments. They will have the ability to work with technology vendors, support resources, delivery partners, junior engineers and Pfizer stakeholders. This will require the application of emerging and traditional technologies across artificial intelligence, data and analytics use cases.
More specifically:
Take a technical leadership role in product design, architecture, and development, including indirect mentorship of junior engineers.
Build full-stack solutions from the ground up, including technology selection, system architecture, scalable design patterns and production readiness.
Balance the art of the possible with an agile approach to development and value realization.
Develop a flexible and well-structured front-end architecture, along with the APIs to support it.
Responsible for development of highly responsive, web-based user interface and Django/Flask API/Fast API Framework
Provide expertise on reliability, performance, and scalability challenges.
Building reusable components and libraries for future use
Support and maintain developed code.
Translating designs and wire frames into high quality code
Construct visualizations that can depict vast amounts of data.
Communicate and collaborate with cross functional teams in an agile environment.
Here Is What You Need (Basic Qualifications)
Applicant must have a Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science or an engineering/quantitative field with at least 4 years of experience including both front-end and back-end; OR a Master's degree with at least 2 years of experience; OR a PhD with 0+ years of experience; OR as associate's degree with 8 years of experience; OR a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 10 years of relevant experience.
Deep knowledge of web standards, JavaScript concepts and fundamentals
Demonstrated strength in JavaScript, Angular, React.js, its core principles and its workflows (such as Flux or Redux) for application and infrastructure development.
Good knowledge of Python preferable with Django or FastAPI.
Familiar with HTML, CSS and SCSS development
Experience with containerization technologies (e.g. Docker).
Exposure to and experience working with relational databases such as Snowflake or Postgres.
Experience building on top of AWS services like AWS Elastic Beanstalk and AWS Elastic Container Service.
Experience of working with code versioning tools (such as Git, SVN)
Ability to quickly learn new technologies and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
Hands-on experience with DevOps and information tools – e.g., JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint, Yammer, etc.
Grit when faced with technical issues -you don't rest until you understand what is happening and why things are not working.
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills with an aptitude for learning new technologies.
Strong communication skills and the ability to interface with both technical and non-technical individuals as needed.
Bonus Points If You Have (Preferred Requirements)
Experience or strong interest in AI Engineering, including agentic frameworks (e.g., LangChain, AutoGPT) and LLM integration.
Familiarity with vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, FAISS) and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines.
Proficient in object-oriented design, data structures, and algorithmic problem-solving.
Experience with unit testing, test-driven development, and agile methodologies.
Commitment to writing clean, readable, and maintainable code.
Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and deliver high-value features iteratively.
Understanding of rapid prototyping, experimentation, and retrospection in agile development cycles.
