What You Will Achieve
In this role, you will:
Assist in the development of enterprise level solutions for Application Streaming Services.
Design and Support services to manage global deployments across the Application Streaming Services platforms, including but not limited to Citrix, AWS AppStream, Azure Remote App.
Collaborate with a team of engineers, product and service owners to create an environment where innovation is standard, taking appropriate risks to advance innovative processes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into technical and business requirements.
Drive the development and implementation of Application Streaming platform strategies aligned with Pfizer's cloud transformation goals.
Ensure the security and compliance of Application Streaming platforms, adhering to industry standards and regulations.
Design, develop, and deploy automation to assist in the lifecycle management of Application Streaming services ensuring the best possible user experience with the lowest overall management resources.
Maintain awareness and understanding of the budget for the Application Streaming platform, ensuring cost-effective use of resources and solutions.
Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in Virtualization and Streaming products, incorporating them into our strategies and practices.
Foster relationships with vendors and partners, ensuring the delivery of high-quality products and services.
Handle escalated issues related to the Application Streaming platform, ensuring timely resolution and minimal impact on operations.
You are expected to review your own work and seek directional review from others. In this role, you may also review the work of other colleagues in a mentor role. Your ability to provide constructive feedback will be essential in maintaining a high standard of work within the department.
You will exercise judgment utilizing your knowledge and experience. Your expertise may become a resource for others in the department. Your ability to share your knowledge and experience will be highly valued in this role.
You will regularly take an informal leadership role during Work team meetings to facilitate agreements and move the Work Team toward its goal. You will take responsibility for a portion of the Work Team’s milestones/deliverables and may lead operation teams.
Here Is What You Need (Minimum Requirements)
Applicant must have a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science or an engineering/quantitative field with at least 4 years of experience; OR a Master's degree with at least 2 years of experience; OR a PhD with 0+ years of experience.
Experience designing and deploying automation utilizing APIs from cloud providers (e.g. AWS, Azure) preferably using serverless architecture e.g. Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB etc.
Strong software development skills.
Strong knowledge of Windows Hosting solutions including IIS + .NET.
Strong scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell).
Strong knowledge of web standards and HTML development.
Familiarity and experience with Windows OS system administration
Familiarity with networking, security, database administration, storage, AD Group Policy, User Authentication protocols, and Centralized System Management toolsets.
Basic understanding of infrastructure security best practices, including IAM, secrets management, and secure configuration.
Basic understanding of Software Development Life Cycle management including requirements definition, design, testing and implementation.
Experience working with code versioning tools (such as Git).
Experience with DevOps and information tools – e.g., JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint, Yammer, etc.
High level of energy, ability to manage and gain respect among peers, team, and other stakeholders; be a motivator and thought leader in the organization.
Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Ability toquickly learn new technologies and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
Customer relationship skills, across technical and non-technical relationships, including the ability to discover the true requirements underlying feature requests and recommend alternative technical and business approaches.
Basic organizational and planning skills, written/verbal presentation, and the ability to present complex technical information, in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences, in large and small groups.
Fluent in English; capable of clear technical communication across scientific and engineering disciplines.
Bonus Points If You Have (Preferred Requirements)
3+ years of experience managing a large-scale deployment of Virtual Apps (100+) to a globally distributed audience.
3+ years of experience managing large scale cloud systems with a focus on operational excellence.
3+ years of experience working with high-availability, distributed systems and services in a hosting environment including hardware, OS, storage, network, and/or database solutions.
Experience with any App Streaming Platforms like AWS AppStream, AWS Workspace Pools, Citrix, Microsoft Azure Hosted Apps, and VMWare.
Experience in the development and rollout of technical operations processes and new services.
Experience automating deployments and following a continuous delivery and deployment model.
Experience building complex, enterprise class solutions that have been successfully delivered to in large scale global environments from initiation to support transition.
Strong understanding of Microsoft’s Desktop and Server Operating Systems.
Experience or strong interest in AI Engineering.
Experience with and strong understanding of the software development lifecycle.
Experience working in team-based environments, either professionally or academically.
Commitment to writing clean, readable, and maintainable code.
Strong analytical skills, process flow development experience, problem solving, relationship building, negotiation, planning, and organization.
