ROLE SUMMARY:
Pfizer's Strategy & Consulting (S&C) team works with Pfizer senior leadership to lead the development of holistic business strategies across the enterprise. We bring strategic connections and make a difference by combining robust consulting approaches with our intimate understanding of Pfizer’s business challenges. We collaborate closely with our internal business partners to develop shared goals and high impact strategies that enable Pfizer’s purpose-driven growth agenda and support our mission to deliver breakthroughs that change patients’ lives.
This role will support projects across one of two S&C verticals:
US Commercial: Focuses on Pfizer’s Primary Care, Specialty Care and Oncology Business Units (BUs). These BUs are responsible for executing the U.S. Commercial strategy across their TAs/products and are accountable for the U.S. P&L for these businesses. Our main stakeholders include the Chief U.S. Commercial Officer, the U.S. BU Presidents and their leadership teams. Our projects help shape, develop, and enable execution of strategies to advance and grow these businesses in support of Pfizer’s overall growth ambitions. These business strategies include key US brand/market priorities, cover a broad range of in-line and late-stage pipeline assets, and span TA-level as well as above-TA topics.
Corporate / R&D: Encompasses a wide range of corporate functions and high priority strategy projects for Research and Development. The scope of this vertical includes support for and requests from the CEO, the Pfizer Board of Directors, the ELT, enterprise-level initiatives related to a broad range of Corporate Functions (e.g., Corporate Affairs, Digital, Finance, People Experience), as well as strategic support for Pfizer’s Chief Scientific Officer and his Leadership Team. Our projects aim to shape, develop, and enable execution of strategies to advance and grow Pfizer’s overall business as well as enhance the productivity and efficiency of our end-to-end PRD engine.
In S&C, you will have frequent exposure to a variety of senior leadership (VPs and Presidents) across Pfizer’s different business units, helping to build your network for a long and successful career at Pfizer. You will be reporting to a Senior Director who is invested in accelerating your growth and development at Pfizer.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Senior Manager in this team, you will have several main accountabilities:
Contribute to the development of each Business Unit’s strategic plan and corresponding strategies, ensuring a consistent structure to the plans created across Pfizer
Lead significant portions and workstreams of projects related to key strategic issues, and
Provide insight into the impact of market signals/trends that could affect business performance or strategic direction
What this looks like on a daily basis:
Interact with BU leaders and/or corporate functions to understand their business needs and develop strategies at a global, US, and/or regional level
Contribute to the completion of annual strategies and plans that guide the execution of the strategies
Lead workstreams on projects that provide insight and direction for key strategic levers such as market development, customer needs assessment, competitive advantage, market and/or product prioritization, and opportunities at the BU, asset, or functional level
Direct small projects and cross-functional teams of colleagues with varying levels of experience, coaching and developing them to build capability and performance
Create an engaging and productive work environment where team members are encouraged to collaborate and excel, and provide mentorship to junior resources
Participate in external networking and thought partnership to broaden functional expertise and maintain awareness of industry trends
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum MBA/MS/MA with 5 years of relevant healthcare experience, or BS/BA with 6 years of relevant healthcare experience
Relevant healthcare experience includes experience working in/with commercial, corporate or R&D biopharma functions involving strategy development and/or strategic initiatives (e.g., marketing, commercial development, market access & pricing, business development, R&D strategy / portfolio management, etc.)
Demonstrated strong strategic thinking skills, as evidenced by the ability to formulate project objectives and identify relevant scope. Identifies appropriate hypothesis for junior team members
Demonstrated project leadership, managing workstreams and small teams of cross-functional colleagues with varying backgrounds and skillsets
Demonstrated ability to influence key senior stakeholders without direct authority
Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills, including technical proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel, and the ability to coach Junior team members
Understanding of trends and market dynamics in US and Global healthcare and biopharmaceuticals, awareness of competitor strategies, and understanding of the drug development process
Excellent presentation skills sufficient to address Global BU Leadership, and external audiences
Strong command of English language, spoken and written
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
2+ years of biopharmaceutical consulting experience strongly preferred
Advanced degree (Masters/MBA plus 5 years, or PhD plus 1 year, or MD)
For US Commercial vertical: US Commercial experience preferred
Additional information:
Location: Our roles require a high level of collaboration and are subject to Pfizer's flexible hybrid policy of 2 to 3 days per week working from our brand-new NYC-based global headquarters.
