What You Will Achieve
The L&D Products & Services team is responsible for driving innovation and delivering Pfizer’s Learning Technology Ecosystem, empowering learners to succeed today and prepare for tomorrow through engaging, impactful experiences that accelerate business outcomes. With a focus on Learner Experience, Content Owner Experience, and Learning Insights, the team is actively exploring how artificial intelligence (AI) and agentic technologies can reshape learning, content creation, and management—enabling more personalized, adaptive, and effective solutions for all stakeholders.
The L&D Product Engineering Lead provides hands-on technical leadership to realize the strategic vision for the Learning Technology Ecosystem. In this capacity, this role leads the implementation and integration of advanced AI capabilities, ensuring that innovative technologies are thoughtfully embedded into products and processes. By collaborating with Product Managers and stakeholders, the Lead fosters a culture of continuous improvement and positions the ecosystem to deliver transformative experiences for learners, content owners, and leaders.
This role guides a team of technical experts, ensuring delivery of enterprise applications using industry best practices and Agile methodologies. This role will lead and mentor a team including solution engineers, architects, technical support teams and vendor partners to deliver and maintain best-in-class learning solutions. They will collaborate with other development teams and/or support functions, prioritize work, support performance evaluation, and remove roadblocks.
This role will collaborate closely with Product Managers and stakeholders to deliver the Technology EcoSystem vision and roadmap.
In this role, you will:
Lead technical strategy, architecture, development and support for the Learning Technology Ecosystem, ensuring alignment across products and teams, and proactively integrating emerging AI and agentic technologies to advance the platform’s capabilities.
Contribute to strategic vision and roadmap to forge a new path for the Learning Technology EcoSystem
Identify and implement process and product improvements, including the adoption of AI-driven solutions, to enhance the learner and content owner experience.
Manage and mentor a team of technical experts (solution engineers, architects, technical support, and vendor partners), fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning in AI and advanced technologies.
Collaborate with product management, enterprise/data architects, and business analysts to envision, plan, and engineer solutions that leverage AI for greater personalization, automation, and insight.
Drive adoption of Agile/Lean Development and DevOps practices to streamline development processes, while exploring how AI can optimize workflows and accelerate delivery.
Track metrics and build reports to measure progress against objectives and key results
Manage dependencies and coordinate with other delivery teams (web/app/dashboard), ensuring AI initiatives are harmonized across the ecosystem.
Apply compliance requirements and ensure documentation, system configuration, and compliance activities are up to date.
Provide input to senior management decisions that impact business direction within the Sub Business Unit/Sub Operating Unit, advocating for innovative approaches.

Here Is What You Need (Minimum Requirements)
BA/BS with 6+ years of experience or MBA/MS with 5+ years of experience or PhD/JD with 1+ year of experience or MD/DVM with any years of relevant experience
Familiarity with user experience design principles and processes
Strong people management experience, coupled with excellent organizational and communication skills
Deep experience with Learning Management System and compliance requirements
Experience contributing to and executing product visions, strategies, and roadmaps.
Strong communicator with excellent written and verbal skills.
Agile/Lean Development & DevOps knowledge or experience.
Demonstrated leadership, accountability, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and build strong relationships across teams.
A curious and highly motivated self-starter who can work effectively across cross-functional teams and can independently drive progress toward completion with proper planning and management
Passion for creating user-centric digital and interactive experiences
Up to date and knowledgeable about the latest trends, innovations and best practices in the digital space and AI

Familiarity with the pharmaceutical industry
Experience in leading cross-functional teams

Experience using common AI tools, including generative technologies such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot, to support problem solving and enhance productivity. Demonstrated curiosity for exploring how these tools can improve outcomes and understanding of responsible AI practices, including risk management and ethical use
Experience in a leadership role, developing and implementing strategic initiatives.
Experience leading teams and building talent for current and future needs.
Experience designing, developing, or implementing workplace solutions.
Certification in Agile and Scrum development practices is a plus.
Experience in product design, data & analytics, and managing distributed teams.
Strong communication skills with ability to align the organization on complex technical decisions
Active coach and mentor focused on team growth.
Demonstrated ability to produce positive outcomes working in matrixed teams that span multiple functions
Experience in managing geographically distributed teams preferred

Occasional additional hours in the evening or weekends as necessitated by workload, project timelines, critical support issues, or meetings with global vendors and peers.
Domestic and International travel up to 20%.
