POSITION SUMMARY
The Oncology Country Brand Lead (CBL) for North Africa owns the strategy, performance, and lifecycle management of the assigned oncology brands across North Africa. Reporting to the Oncology Category Lead, the CBL defines and drives country-specific therapeutic area and brand strategies, leads planning and execution, and ensures strong coordination with cross-functional teams to achieve revenue, profitability, and growth objectives.
The CBL ensures all marketing activities support the lifecycle needs of the brands and are executed with excellence, quality, and full compliance. The role requires strong strategic thinking, operational discipline, and leadership within a matrix environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Strategy Development, Execution Excellence & Cross-Functional Leadership
- Develop clear, insight-driven local brand strategies and tactical plans aligned with regional/global guidance. Ensure strategies reflect brand lifecycle needs and evolving market dynamics.
- Lead the Core Brand Team to align internal stakeholders.
- Generate and leverage customer and market insights to guide decision-making.
- Identify and address country-specific challenges and growth opportunities.
- Lead development of promotional campaign and programs and ensure appropriate content delivery across channels.
- Ensure the effective rollout and execution of promotional tactics through close collaboration with Sales team.
- Monitor performance trends, identify risks/opportunities, and adjust tactics as required.
- Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders.
- Manage external agencies to ensure quality, compliance, and timely delivery.
2. Financial Ownership, Forecasting & Demand Planning
- Own revenue forecasting, A&P allocations and tracking against objectives.
- Ensure accuracy of forecasts and develop mitigation plans.
- Lead monthly brand and portfolio reviews.
- Conduct demand planning with supply to secure supply continuity and minimize obsolescence.
- Monitor ROI for marketing activities and optimize investments.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- High-quality Brand Plan aligned with local insights and strategic priorities.
- Operationally detailed tactical plan with KPIs and budget alignment, coupled with strong execution across functions and active prioritization of the budget, making trade off decisions based on the best ROI.
- Reliable, accurate forecasts and A&P management.
- Compliance with governance and quality standards.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical/Medical Sciences is preferred.
- > 5 years of pharmaceutical marketing experience, Oncology experience is preferred.
- Proven track record in brand strategy, execution, and cross-functional leadership.
TECHNICAL & LEADERSHIP SKILLS
- Strategic and operational business and marketing planning, with track record of strong execution and effective prioritization among/across brands.
- Ability to navigate complex matrix environments and to influence others without authority.
- Proficiency in English, French and local language.
- Objective-oriented, decisive, collaborative, courageous.
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
