The Event Production & AV Ops Manager is responsible for leading the delivery of global virtual and hybrid meetings and events for Pfizer colleagues. The role provides operational leadership for the Chennai‑based Event Production & AV Ops Hub, ensuring a consistently high standard of service delivery, customer satisfaction, and technical excellence.
The role manages the local Hub team and on‑site AV Technicians in India, while working in close partnership with Event Production & AV Ops Managers globally to drive projects, process improvements, and strategic initiatives across the wider team. The role plays a key part in scaling services, improving reliability, and evolving event production capabilities using the Microsoft Teams platform and associated technologies.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
• Lead the day‑to‑day operation of the Event Production & AV Ops Hub, ensuring delivery of a first‑class customer service experience.
• Provide operational leadership and line management for the Hub team and on‑site AV Technicians in India.
• Oversee the delivery of remote support for virtual and hybrid meetings and events using the Microsoft Teams platform.
• Ensure proactive monitoring of equipment, services, and platforms to confirm readiness ahead of meetings and events.
• Act as an escalation point for complex technical, service delivery, and customer issues.
• Ensure effective support of in‑room technologies to enable seamless collaboration across virtual and hybrid environments.
• Partner with meeting and event stakeholders to ensure appropriate resourcing, planning, and communication.
• Drive consistency in event setup standards, pre‑event checks, and service readiness across the Hub.
• Work closely with Event Production & AV Ops Managers globally to lead projects, initiatives, and continuous improvement activities for the wider team.
• Support service performance management, including quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction outcomes.
• Ensure the delivery of high‑quality meetings and events to Pfizer colleagues worldwide.
Requirements:
• Proven experience leading or coordinating virtual and hybrid meeting and event support using the Microsoft Teams platform.
• Demonstrated experience managing or leading technical, AV, IT, or event support teams.
• Strong customer service mindset, with experience delivering and maintaining a first‑class service experience.
• Solid background in IT, AV, event production, or customer support environments.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft platforms and collaboration technologies.
• Ability to oversee and support troubleshooting of AV, meeting room technology, hardware, and software issues.
• Strong organisational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, events, and teams concurrently.
• Experience working with event production and video workflows; video editing knowledge is advantageous.
• Familiarity with vMix, Adobe Premiere, and other event production software is preferred.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Pro Management Portal and Microsoft Teams Room devices is preferred.
• Excellent spoken and written English skills are essential due to the global support and leadership nature of the role.
Other Information:
• The role will be primarily based at the Pfizer Chennai (Emerald Building) office.
• Some hybrid or remote working is possible; however, on‑site presence is required to support team leadership and operational needs.
• Due to peak event delivery times, the standard working shift for the Event Support team will be 2:00pm–10:00pm IST, while on‑site AV Technicians will operate a 9:00am–5:00pm IST schedule; as Hub Lead, flexibility is encouraged to support both teams and align with global stakeholders for projects and team engagement.
• The role forms part of a wider global Event Production & AV Ops organisation and reports to the International Markets Event Production & AV Ops Lead.
