As a Manager, Senior Scrum Master, you will be part of the Commercial Analytics AI Solutions and Engineering team charged with the development of an array of products that generalize point solutions into analytic and AI systems to simplify and fuel insight generation. You will be a key proponent and coach of Agile practices and values, using these to help drive forward AI-driven transformation that powers Pfizer’s customer-oriented vision.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Know Agile best practices and trains/provides guidance on implementation, and able to propose and enhance new best practices
Coach Product Owners, helping them create clear and concise Product Backlog Items, ensuring they know how to arrange the Product Backlog to maximize value.
Understand the functional/technical requirements for successful outcomes and provide leadership to the functional/technical team, helping them to solve some of the more complex challenges while fostering a collaborative, knowledge sharing environment.
Plan scrum implementations effectively, ensuring that goals, scope, and product domain are understood by everyone on the Scrum Team
Lead and coordinate Sprint Planning, Daily Scrums, Sprint Reviews, and Sprint Retrospectives on cross functional cross regional teams
Establish an environment where the Scrum team can be as effective as possible, addressing behaviors and team dynamics, and ensuring a good relationship between the scrum team, product owner and related stakeholders
Ability to recognize and remove roadblocks for the team
Coach team on SDLC processes and ensure the processes are followed
Lean/Agile leader – Helps the team embrace agile core values, adopt and apply those principles, and implementation practices
Guide more junior team members on Agile Delivery
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree with major or minor in information management, information systems, or similar field
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a scrum master, working with functional/technical teams of contract or colleague resources
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to establish relationships, influence outcomes, and deliver effective presentations to a variety of audiences.
Excellent skills in planning, analysis, oral and written communication, consensus building, facilitation, negotiation, and the ability to readily learn new business areas
Proven capability leading projects in an Agile/DevOps environment
Sound understanding of Agile scaling frameworks, and various other Agile frameworks such as Kanban and SAFe in leveraging the right technique at the right time
Demonstrated success in coaching multiple agile project teams (pods) across products
Experience with task management tools (e.g. JIRA) and knowledge management tools (e.g. Confluence)
Highly self-motivated to deliver both independently and with strong team collaboration
Ability to creatively take on new challenges and work outside comfort zone
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Scrum Master certification
Knowledge of life science industry technology strategies and trends
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and drive business decisions with information and make appropriate trade-off decisions
Demonstrated ability to oversee tasks requiring attention to detail, ensuring alignment with business goals and proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously
NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
Ability to work non-traditional work hours interacting with global teams spanning across the different regions (eg: North America, Europe, Asia)
