Calling All Creatives! We need YOU to design for science!

More of us than ever need science to restore not just the health of our loved ones, but life as we remember it. The power of science is the key to unlocking the answers to the world’s most challenging medical questions. Embodied by our “Science Will Win” campaign, Pfizer is at the forefront of the vital research being conducted to find treatments, cures and preventive medicines to the diseases that currently confound us.

Low health literacy can be one of the biggest barriers to improving the state of human health. Giving science a visual language can help to make it more accessible, empowering everyone to make and better understand their own health decisions. On International Design Day, aligned to this year’s theme of “Design for Each and All,” we are launching the Design for Science competition, offering creatives the chance to work with us and help to ensure that science will win for everyone.

Design for Science is a call to creatives* to help us visually represent scientific innovations or the patient experience within Pfizer’s six key therapeutic areas: Inflammation & Immunology, Internal Medicine, Oncology, Rare Disease, Anti-Infectives and Vaccines.

We are asking you to choose any format; whether that’s an illustration, photograph, film, poem or anything else that can be captured digitally, and bring one of our therapy areas to life.

The competition deadline has been extended to June 22nd, 2021. Following the judging process, Pfizer will award six competition winners and shortlist up to twenty entrants. Pfizer will purchase the usage rights to winning and shortlisted submissions as follows:

Winning Entries

Pfizer will purchase exclusive global usage rights and license for winning submissions and narratives (up to the sum of $1000 tax inc) to include the following listed uses within Pfizer’s ‘Science Will Win’ campaign which will be memorialized in a separate document with each winning entrant:

  • Promotional materials inclusive of broadcast, radio, print, digital and social media
  • Educational materials inclusive of digital and print
  • Within social media posts from Pfizer owned channels and those of affiliated media partners
  • Display at Pfizer offices or facilities globally, on Pfizer digital properties and at Pfizer events

Shortlisted Entries

Pfizer will purchase exclusive global usage rights and license for shortlisted submissions and narratives (up to the sum of $500 tax inc) to include the following listed uses within Pfizer’s ‘Science Will Win’ campaign which will be memorialized in a separate document with each shortlisted entrant:

  • Educational materials inclusive of digital and print
  • Within social media posts from Pfizer owned channels and those of affiliated media partners
  • Display at Pfizer offices or facilities globally and at Pfizer events

Submissions not selected as shortlisted or winners will not receive any financial payment.

All entrants will be invited to a design masterclass following the competition close, hosted by one of the influential designers we engage – focused on learning new techniques and skills they themselves have applied to answering the brief.
