Over the summer, Pfizer launched “The Power of Knowing,” a video series hosted by our Chief Digital and Technology Officer, Lidia Fonseca. The series explores how artificial intelligence (AI) is unlocking innovation that was previously out of reach via interviews with industry leaders at the forefront of these changes. Today we’re excited to share a new installment that touches on a topic that’s so important to Pfizer that the concept serves as one of our core values: equity.

Equity may not immediately seem related to AI, but in fact it is essential to ensuring that AI benefits everyone. By grounding innovation in responsible practices and ensuring broad access and learning opportunities, we can build the trust needed to unlock AI’s full potential.

In the latest episode of The Power of Knowing (watch below), Pfizer’s CTO, Lidia Fonseca, sits down with Edith Cooper, co-founder of Medley and former Goldman Sachs executive, to explore how leaders can learn from the past, lead by example, and bring everybody along for the journey of AI-driven transformation so they feel empowered to embrace it. They discussed how technology can deepen human connections and strengthen communities, why ethical, inclusive practices must guide innovation, and practical ways to lead authentically in an increasingly digital world.

This interview follows four previous installments in the series, each featuring a different leader sharing their perspectives on the myriad ways AI is transforming our world.

The Power of Knowing debuted with Stan McChrystal, Retired US Army General and Co-Founder of the McChrystal Group, who explained how AI has become a critical tool in decision-making in high-stakes situations. The second episode featured Dr. Sue Desmond-Hellman, a renowned oncologist, scientist, and former CEO of the Gates Foundation to discuss AI’s role in making scientific breakthroughs, including the importance of responsibility and ethics around the new technology.

In episode three, Lidia and Arianna Huffington—trailblazer, founder of the Huffington Post, and founder and CEO of Thrive Global—discussed how to turn constant input into clarity, how AI can create space for human connection, and why resilience and well-being are essential for adapting to a world of exponential change. And last month, Julie Sweet, Accenture CEO and one of the most influential voices on how AI is reshaping business and leadership, joined Lidia to discuss how and why leaders must adopt a ‘reinvention’ mindset when it comes to AI, in order to drive growth, inclusion, and lasting impact.

Today’s new episode of The Power of Knowing gets into the importance of community, empathy, and responsibility, when it comes to access to and use of AI.
