Lu Hong is Vice President, Human Resources, for Pfizer’s Upjohn business. Previously, she was Vice President, Global HR Operations. In this position, she led a dispersed global center of expertise charged with reimagining HR Operations strategies and imperatives to empower the 90,000 Pfizer colleagues around the world. Her team also collaborated with Business Technology to successfully implement Pfizer’s first cloud-based HR platform, Workday.
She joined Pfizer in 1993 and started her HR career in 1997 as a Learning and Development Manager for Pfizer China. In the intervening years, she progressed through increasingly senior HR leadership positions throughout the Asia Pacific Region and in New York. Prior to her current role, Lu Hong served as Vice President, HR Business Operations Solutions (BOS) for the APAC region, leading an organization of over 200 HR professionals. Her organization was responsible for the successful execution of global and local business and HR imperatives across 16 diverse markets, all Pfizer business units, and 38,000 colleagues. Key accomplishments included the divestiture of the Animal Health business, the integration of Hospira, and the consolidation of payroll operations in the region. Her vast HR experience also included work as HR Lead for Pfizer PGS for Emerging Markets, North Asia, Japan, and China, respectively.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in International Economy and Trade from China Northeast University of Finance & Economy and a Master’s degree in business administration from Beijing University. Prior to joining Pfizer, Lu Hong worked for Good Year China as the Business Operations Support to the General Manager.
