Proposal

Improving Smoking Cessation Care for Hospitalized Patients in a Large Regional Healthcare Organization

The goal of this project is to deliver tobacco cessation treatment to all smoke and smokeless tobacco users at admission and discharge from the hospital. The project will train the cadre of 80 nurses who oversee hospital admissions and discharges in 5 large facilities and to educate nursing staff on the threshold for referral to more advanced tobacco treatment.
