RFP: Symptomatic Vulvovaginal Atrophy in the Postmenopausal Woman

Proposal

Promoting Evidence-Based Diagnosis and Management of Symptomatic Vulvovaginal Atrophy in Primary Care Using an Electronic Patient Portal

The overall goal of our project is to develop and refine an electronic patient portal-based (MyChart) intervention to promote more systematic recognition and evidence-based management of postmenopausal vulvovaginal symptoms in the primary care setting. We aim to examine the impact of this intervention on rates of patient-provider discussion about postmenopausal vulvovaginal symptoms, evaluation and treatment for symptoms, and improvement in symptom-specific outcomes at an urban academic medical center.
