Chief People Experience Officer, Executive Vice President
Payal Sahni is Chief People Experience Officer (CPXO) and Executive Vice President at Pfizer where she leads the enterprise-wide colleague and workplace experience strategy for a global organization of nearly 75,000 colleagues. As CPXO, Payal oversees culture, engagement, and talent development across Pfizer in support of the company’s purpose: Breakthroughs that Change Patients' Lives.
Payal has spearheaded organizational transformations and directed the human resources strategy for several key mergers and acquisitions, including the integration of Seagen in oncology and Metsera in obesity and cardiometabolic disease. Payal leads the enterprise-wide AI Fluency initiative, preparing colleagues for the future of work as Pfizer strives to become the most AI-forward company. Her team’s remit spans colleague communications and engagement, total rewards, talent acquisition, business partners, learning and development, alongside real estate planning, workplace strategy, and security. Guided by the belief that every person deserves to be seen, heard, and cared for, Payal has cultivated an environment where colleagues can thrive and do their best work.

Payal joined Pfizer Human Resources in 1997 and has worked across the company’s commercial, manufacturing, business innovation, legal, compliance and corporate affairs functions. Prior to her role as CPXO, she served as Senior Vice President, Human Resources (HR), for Pfizer Biopharmaceuticals Group, where she set the HR strategy for Pfizer’s entire commercial organization.
Payal is the Executive Sponsor of the Global Asian Alliance colleague resource group. Beyond Pfizer, Payal serves on the Tent Partnership for Refugees U.S. Advisory Council, the International Rescue Committee's Board of Advisors, and the Advisory Board of Berkeley's Transformative CHRO Leadership Program.
Payal holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Rider University and a Master of Arts in Psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
